MD&A INC. doing business as “Make More Creative” (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates No5Writer. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and authentication credentials. If you sign in via Google OAuth, we receive your name and email from Google.

Your Creative Content

We store the manuscripts, outlines, character profiles, research notes, and other creative content you create within the Service. This content is stored to provide the Service to you and is not used for any other purpose.

Usage Data

We may collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, and session duration, for the purpose of improving the Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
• Authenticate your identity and secure your account
• Process your creative content through AI models to provide editorial coaching
• Store and sync your manuscripts and project data
• Communicate with you about the Service

4. AI Processing

When you use our AI coaching features, portions of your creative content (such as the current chapter, character profiles, and outline) are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) for processing. This content is transmitted securely and processed in accordance with Anthropic’s usage policies.

Your creative content is not used to train AI models. It is processed solely to generate real-time editorial feedback for you.

5. Research Feature

When you use the Research feature, your search queries are sent to Perplexity (a third-party search API) to retrieve relevant information. These queries may include text you have selected from your manuscript. Research results are stored as notes within your project if you choose to save them.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Supabase, which uses PostgreSQL databases hosted on secure cloud infrastructure. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We implement row-level security policies to ensure that you can only access your own data.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with the following third-party providers:

• Supabase — Authentication and data storage
• Anthropic — AI editorial coaching and content analysis
• Perplexity — Research and fact-finding
• Vercel — Application hosting and delivery

Each provider has their own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information and creative content within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

9. Your Rights

Under applicable Canadian privacy law (including PIPEDA), you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Export your creative content at any time
• Withdraw consent for data processing

10. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. These cookies are strictly necessary for the Service to function and cannot be disabled. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

11. Children’s Privacy

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the Service or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
